As many Venice residents return from the desert festivities, the VAC will close Rose Avenue between 3rd and 4th street for an evening of art cars, installations, live performances, music and more. What: Venice Art Crawl When: Thursday September 17, 2015, 6pm Where: Rose Avenue, between 3rd and 4th Streets, Venice Cost: FREE ADMISSION! The evening will feature a collection of art cars created by local artists that include the legendary “Charlie the Unicorn” art car with its happy music vibes and revelers dressed as unicorns. Attendees are encouraged to wear their most creative unicorn costume for a “unicorn stampede” down Rose Avenue! The Yellow Subs by Dogtown Artists United and Wing Tip by 2013 Temple builder Gregg Fleishman will also be on display. Guests will enjoy installations and artwork from various local artists including a 30ft. cardboard sculpture by Venice resident Ivo Vergara, an LED mural by David Anthony and the Raven Wind Harp by Obi Bob. Altervision 3D will showcase their 3D art experience and Space Harp will amaze guests with their interactive sound installation. To commemorate the event, attendees can bring their own t- shirt or tank top to have screen printed with special edition Venice Afterburn artwork. Enjoy distinctive artwork, artists and performers by walking from venue to venue and include dinner in your special evening at the numerous Venice restaurants. The Venice Art Crawl is an organization by and for the people and is five years strong in this beachside community. The VAC is now part of the Venice Chamber of Commerce and wants to share, inspire and promote collaboration within the Venice populace through mixers and art events hosted by local businesses and artists’ studios. The VAC’s goal is to foster and reinvigorate the creativity that has historically made Venice such a vibrant and dynamic community. The VAC happens in the evening four times a year on the third Thursday of the quarter months. For 2015: March 19, June 18, September 17 and December 17. The VAC is always looking for artists, venues, sponsors, volunteers, art lovers and art buyers.
