The Venice Chamber of Commerce Education Committee announces its  5th Annual WAVE Awards, honoring teachers for their innovative approach to education and outstanding achievements in and beyond the classroom.

Wave-2“New technologies and blended classrooms are often heralded as innovations in education. While these certainly provide teachers with more advanced tools with which to deliver a more personalized curriculum, we wanted to bring the focus back to our teachers as innovators in their daily ability to connect with each and every student, nurture curiosity, foster inspiration and create life-long learners,” says Joelle Dumas, Chair of the Venice Chamber Education Committee.

Wave-195The WAVE Awards were launched in 2011 to acknowledge the enormous contribution teachers make every day to the children of Venice and the surrounding areas. Teachers are nominated and selected by their peers for excellence and recognized at an awards dinner. The event has also become a forum for educators, parents and community leaders to share ideas and build relationships.
