George Koll lived an alternative life in the underground of San Francisco, and his writings and art are testimony to his life. He survived, – sometimes thrived – under the radar, longer than most, if not all of his friends and contemporaries of the Beat Generation, the 60’s and 70’s and beyond. The official opening for the show will be Saturday, January 10, 2015, from 4-6pm. Juri Koll, Director of the Venice Institute of Contemporary Art will be curating his father’s work, which has been an inspiration to him and his life as an artist. Fatemeh Burnes and Peter Frank will be curating Mr. Koll’s paintings into the show, based on Koll’s selections of his father’s work. Juri and Saul Koll will be preparing a definitive book on the project which will be debuted at the opening on January 10. It’s an event not to miss. We are very proud to present this exhibition and book at Beyond Baroque which is one of the United States’ leading independent Literary | Arts Centers and public spaces dedicated to expanding the public’s knowledge of poetry, literature and art through cultural events and community interaction.
